They were awesome. They came in and quickly assembled my wall bed. The guy was so experienced that he didn't even break open the manual and there were no extra parts other than what was already sent by mfg. He walked in with his own tools. Manual said it would take 2 people 6 hours and it took 1 person 3.5 hours. He was quick and neat and very reasonable!! Highly recommend.
Worked with Emma to get the appointment set up. She was very responsive, friendly, and transparent. The technician, Daniel arrived right on time and set up an Echelon spin bike in less than an hour. Everything worked out very well, I’m happy I can enjoy my product courtesy of CyruKing. Definitely recommend their service.
I had originally booked another handyman service in the Dallas area who no called no showed. I had them scheduled for a week so I was desperate. Afshari with Rubixpro came out within an hour after being called and did an excellent job. Friendly and professional. Thank you so much.
To be clear the technician arrived punctually and completed all the work to my satisfaction, he was professional and courteous. The problem was dealing with the front office. I reached out to hire a pro to assemble a multi-purpose tool desk and drawer set. Rubix offered to do it for $100. We agreed on a time and date, but due to an internal meeting at their company they informed he would be arriving later and so we agreed to postpone the appointment. At that point I asked them how much they would charge me to assemble an extra item (a fitness rower), the front desk person (Emma) agreed to do both for $250. I then countered and asked if Rubix would agree to $300 total for an additional item (A bench press, which of all the items was the simplest to put together). The precise wording was "How about $300 for this one too...Your Tech will already be here, can you do it?" Emma agreed with a thumbs up. I have to stop and add that all communication was via text message, the front office does not answer phone calls and insists on doing everything via short texts. Despite having a clear record in texts, RubixLLC walks back their agreement by stating "we committed a typo." Additionally I asked if the final invoice would show description of work done, "fitness equipment assembly". Again Emma replied in the affirmative. When the technician finished his work, I was unpleasantly surprised when he told me it was $550. He said it was $250 + $300 = $550. What then followed was a storm of messages back and forth with Emma stating that we agreed to do the last item for $300. Emma stated it would be unfair to only pay $300 for a 4hr job, but that is what I offered and it was accepted. Furthermore the multipurpose desk and the rower assembly were more complicated than the bench and I would never agree to have them do the latter alone for $300 (which was more than twice the actual cost of the item), also I pointed out that the wording "too" clearly means in the context "additionally or also". There was clearly not a very good understanding of English communication. Nonetheless I was willing to compromise and agreed to accept their offer of an hourly rate. I asked what the total would be and Emma informed me $360 and confirmed it by text, I wrote the tech a check and off he went... Only to have Emma phone me and tell me I was $20 short. It should actually be $380 (again her mistake)! I zelled the extra amount this time already livid with the experience. I kept asking for the invoice and when she finally sent it, the description mentioned "handy man services". I re-texted her and stated I wanted it to show "fitness equipment assembly" since I needed it for reimbursement. Emma replied, "sorry the office is closed we cannot send two receipts for the job that is already done". Working with Rubix was my worst experience on Thumbtack, hence this review, their communication is bad and they go back on their agreements. Make sure you spell out the exact scope, time and total cost of the work and have them re-confirm it word for word. Even then... Do not recommend. I've posted this review on Thumtack and RubixLLC response was to say they have done "thousand projects at Thumbtack and Google, and 99% of our customers were as satisfied with the result as you." Actually what she meant to say is 99% of the customers are satisfied. Not satisfied with the result as me. If they were as satisfied as I am, they would be unsatisfied. Again this speaks to the communication difficulties which come pay time... Also, they responded saying "our conversation with you should be recorded in text. This is why the dispatcher gives you text. This is in your interest as well as in the interest of the company , our statements are recorded." ->> Well then why does RubixLLC walk back their agreement contradicting the texts??? On three occasions, twice when I agreed to final cost via text and then they came back asking for more money. Finally the description on invoice, all of this was requested via text and none of it honored.
